I had a painting accepted into an exhibit called “Glitz” at the Annmarie Garden in Solomons, Maryland. The call for entries was a National call, and the exhibit features artists from all over the country. Roughly 30 artists were selected to exhibit work that was embellished and “over the top” in some way. Three of the artists were from Massachusetts, so if the Red Sox have you feeling down, root for the local artists. We represent (literally, metaphorically and idiomatically).
The jurors interpreted “over the top” to create a balanced fun show with some very interesting and creative mixed media work. I found a number of intriguing pieces, and some that just blew me away. I will be posting more about the AnnMarie and some of my favorite pieces from the show in the next few days. Right now I just want to share some photos – see the slideshow below. I will update with more photos and info as I have the chance to crop, rotate, etc. in Gimp. You can also check out the webpage at Annmariefor more information.
The show closes Jan 13 2013.
